    FOUNDER/MANAGING PARTNER

As the founder and managing partner of the firm, attorney Jim Kelly’s professional focus is making law work for individuals, businesses, and non-profits facing Michigan’s legal system. Jim is an expert civil litigator and insurance coverage specialist, experienced in facing hostile insurance companies and producing exceptional results.

Jim began his career representing clients faced with the complicated task of collecting on their insurance claims after property losses. During his time at this firm, Jim’s work ethic, attention to detail, and aggressive advocacy resulted in excellent client outcomes.

Jim subsequently left private practice to fulfill a lifelong dream of working in government, being appointed as an Assistant Attorney General in Michigan Attorney General's Office, where he was awarded a certificate of appreciation and excellence by the Attorney General. Jim mastered the ins and outs of municipal, regulatory, and licensing matters, as well as city charter amendments, FOIA requests, and Open Meetings Action compliance.

Ultimately, Jim’s passion for helping individuals conquer the legal system led him to open his own law firm in 2016. Whether it is helping individuals and small businesses plan for the next generation with a will or trust or helping them recover from the destruction of a property by fire, water, or other casualty loss, or making sure their businesses can grow and thrive through well-written and legally enforceable contracts, Jim’s authentic advocacy lets him be a voice for you!
